The Lucy Burns Institute shares information, guidance, practical advice, legal developments and news about open records at the state and local level. We’re interested in hearing about and helping you with your state or local-level public records projects and requests. Please see our contact page for a comment form you can use to reach us. LBI can also be reached via the phone number, e-mail address or street address on this page.

LBI also provides materials to help ordinary citizens share information with each other about local units of government.  Blogs and wikis are good choices for neighborhood groups and individuals to share helpful information about local units of government.

The Lucy Burns Institute is non-profit and non-partisan.  It was started in Wisconsin in December 2006.
